PPR Pipes have lots of advantages for all types of plumbing applications amongst all available options for plumbing piping like PVC Pipes, UPVC Pipes, CPVC Pipes etc. PPR Pipes assure 50 years of long life and resistance up to 25 Bar pressure and higher temperature. Let us understand the advantages in detail as under:
KPT pipes and fittings are produced from Polypropylene Random Copolymer Type 3 as raw material having good flexibility, high molecular weight and low melt flow rate.
This raw material is recommended for the production of pressure pipes including hot and cold water transfer lines, floor heating, potable water transfer lines and also for chemical industry application. Good long term pressure resistance and easy processing and installation technique give cold and hot water systems made of PPR pipes an advantage as an alternative to the traditional systems.
Polypropylene Random Copolymer Type 3 corresponds to German DIN standards.

PPR pipe fittings are a great choice for water and gas systems. They meet the standards of the Fire Protection Association and are commonly used in major stadiums, resorts, commercial buildings, and other places where fire protection is essential. This type of pipe is lightweight and can easily be transported and laid.
When constructing a plumbing system, it is important to understand how PPR pipes are joined. PP-R, or Polypropylene Random Copolymer, pipes are the most common non-metallic pipes used worldwide. They can be welded using either solvent cement or a heat fusion welding process.
PPR is used for piping systems in underground applications. It is lightweight, flexible, and corrosion-resistant. Its anticorrosive properties help it last much longer than other types of pipes. It can be bent without breaking, even when the bend is less than 180 degrees.
The first step in determining whether a PPR pipe is suitable for hot water is to confirm its chemical composition. The material is subjected to a compression test to determine if the chemical composition is correct. If there are no cracks, the material is ready for fabrication.
A PPR pipe’s maximum pressure is determined by the design and the operating temperature of the pipe. The operating temperature depends on the design life and the temperature of the environment in which it’s installed. The higher the temperature, the lower the maximum working pressure.
